Nice Mexican restaurant, a little too quaint for the demand of customers though. The nice thing about this restaurant is there is no rush to “flip the tables”. Groups can eat, drink and chat comfortably without the feeling of the waiter trying to get you out once you have finished your meal.
We wanted to try Guapos, and had heard good things about it. The quality of the drinks was good. We ordered Steak Nachos as an appetizer. It was 8 chips layered with one little piece of steak . The portions were tiny for 14.95. Again, good quality food ,but the portions were disappointing. I will stick with Los Tips for Mexican food and drinks.
Very good Mexican food. May not be authentic, but the flavor is great. The portions are very good and the price is reasonable. One of the better Mexican restaurants in the DC area that is not a hole-in-the-wall. Good for a night out. Their chips and salsa is great.
They also provide ice cream and a song if it’s your birthday. Customer service is 5 stars, wait time can go from 15min-1hr 1/2 which is the only down side.
This is actually a zero star review. I ordered the fiesta salad and asked to replace the chicken or steak fajita with fish and add veggies to it instead. The server did mention that there would be an extra charge. I was expecting $3-4 surcharge. The bill came out with a discharge of $10. When I raised concern with the server, he took it back to the manager who refused to askust the amount on the bill. He told the server that he needed to pick up the tab for the Xtra surcharge from his own pocket since he did not state the cost of the surcharge upfront to the customer. This is poor leadership from the Manager who did not even have the courtesy to come to your table and convey the message himself. The poor server who already is a low wage earner was asked to take a hit whereas the restaurant could have walked up to a table of there who just spent $60 (me and my colleague) and offered to adjust it back without penalizing the server. Will never set foot again in this restaurant.
Best service ever. The wait staff is friendly & prompt, and they’re always sure to check on you often, without being too intrusive. The food is also very good. They also have plenty of vegetarian options, for those who prefer to eat meatless.
