Fell in love with this community IMMEDIATELY. The staff are consistently helpful and kind. The building is maintained very well, and the concierge is 24/7 awesome. My girlfriend and I have access to a bunch of great restaurants across the street, as well as beautiful walks down the long bridge (right next to the river). I am surprised at how quiet things are, it is blissfully quiet in our apartment space. In my opinion they could be charging a LOT more for these apartments, considering how big + renovated they are. Easy commute for my DC job, since the metro is literally across the street. Live here!!!!!!!
Tamika, working at the front desk, is simply the best! She's always there with a smile on her face, greeting everyone that comes by, asking how your day is going, and she even remembers everyone's name! She's so good, it's gotten to the point that if she sees me coming in from a distance, and I have packages, she'll have them out and ready to hand to me. Bless Tamika, I'm so glad she's there!
Today, 2 members of the Equity management team called me and literally yelled and screamed at me on the phone shouting "You are rude person" and "get a life" on the phone. These people are the most unprofessional RUDE and ignorant group of people who happened to get a job with each other I have ever met. Rhoda and Julian are horrible and lack any understanding of professionalism and customer service. Rather than behave professionally, they literally seek opportunities to retaliate and play childish games with their residents. Hard to believe a national corporation such as Equity would think employees of this caliber were positive representatives for their brand. There are also aspects of racism in how the management team deal with residents towards African Americans.
Horrible management which takes no responsibility for the property blames everything on someone else and basically helpless as a manager. Rental staff only interested in meeting their quotas and sales goals. They ask/beg residents to go on line and give high reviews. Once you move in they treat you like garbage. Very inattentive group of people who talk over you and have no ability to hear the resident's perspective. Current management incapable of leading a team of people and has no ability to improve customer service and make staff accountable for the many inaccurate things they tell residents. Equity property only allows you to send and email or leave a voicemail. Upper management just as ineffective as property management.
-APARTMENT- We had a 2 bdrm/2bath. The "master" bathroom was so small, you couldn't close the door if you were sitting on the toilet, and it wasn't large enough to put a bath mat in it. The 2nd bedroom is 100 sqft and is more like a den. The kitchen was a decent size galley kitchen, but there is no pantry space save for a closet that is approximately 6 inches wide and SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE (see picture). Also, the windows don't open; there are little slits in the bottom of the window covered with the nastiest dirtiest mesh "screens". Literally the only ventilation you will get is through the balcony door. What's hilarious is, is that Equity (property owners) sent out an email about fire safety and how you should have a plan of how to escape from each room. If you are in a bedroom when there is a fire, you're dead. I don't know how that's not illegal.
Great place to live. Amazing views. Metro across the street. Running trails everywhere! Great area to run the dog close by. Very friendly and customer service oriented staff. We had to transfer out of state but the manager was very easy to work with and communicated everything thoroughly. Once we moved out Damon was easily accessible to us by phone to complete the process anytime we called. We loved it there!
