The Village of Shirlington is amazing. Utilize the free parking garages and don't bother with street parking. There are a ton of shops and restaurants to choose from. Grab a beer at Capitol City Brewing to start and make your way around. There are way too many stores to count, but if you find yourself in the area, enjoy the walk. It's such a friendly layout.
Love it. Or second go to community village. Good selection of restaurants, juice place and movie theatre. Parking is difficult but worth the trip
A nice place to visit away from the hustle & bustle of D.C. Numerous good restaurants & shopping options accompanied by cinemas & a live theatre. Off-street, regulated parking available. Recommended.
5 stars for restaurants. -5 stars for parking. Despite Arlington County's wish to have all people walk and live in "urban villages," it's not a reality. So, I infrequently come here to visit phenomenal restaurants and face the parking struggle.
This is a wonderful pedestrian friendly area. An array of restaurants to satisfy almost any palate from good old American fare to Thai or Indian cuisine. There are a few sweet shops thrown in the mix as well. AMC has a fine movie house and one theater has reserve seating for you just-in-timers. There is also a live theater and and library. All of this within a short walk of each other. Great for a date night or day.
